A cheerful satire on the class struggle and the war of the sexes

New 2K restoration

Raffaella, a rich and arrogant bourgeoise, invites friends to spend a few days on her yacht in the Mediterranean Sea. Gennarino, a sailor with communist ideals, only moderately appreciates the company of his hosts. One day, he agrees to take Raffaella for a boat ride, but the engine breaks down and the two are stranded on a desert island. Their relationship will be disrupted...

Filmed in 1974, Towards an unusual destiny on the blue waves of summer is a hilarious comedy that makes fun of the traditional themes of class struggle and the war between the sexes. Feminist and committed filmmaker, the Italian Lina Wertmüller ( Pasqualin o) signs here a film as audacious as it is hilarious, a real snub to the established order and the patriarchal Italy of the 1970s. Available in a new restored version!
