Texts from The New Yorker
1960 - 1976
For seven decades, Lillian Ross was one of the New Yorker 's leading reporters and a pioneer of "literary journalism." Between 1960 and 1976, Lillian Ross wrote a series of articles on François Truffaut during his stays in New York, for the magazine's “Talk of the Town” section. Their first meeting occurred during the release in the United States of the film Les 400 Coups. Many others will follow, notably on the occasion of the releases of La Peau douce, then of L'Enfant sauvage, until his role in Steven Spielberg's film, Encounters of the Third Kind at the end of the 1970s.
