Clelia, an independent and warm young woman, leaves Rome to run a fashion house in Turin. As soon as she arrives, she saves the young Rosetta from suicide and befriends her friends, from the Turin bourgeoisie. Clelia will then be the witness of the ambiguous relations between these women, tinged with malevolence towards the fragile Rosetta who, for her part, is madly in love with the husband of her friend Nene. Cynicism and provincial pettiness will considerably upset Clelia who will find herself confronted with the irreparable...
Women Between Them is one of Michelangelo Antonioni's very first masterpieces. Freely adapted from a short story by Cesare Pavese, the film chronicles the deleterious relationships within a group of women and announces the great Antonion theme of the failure of human relationships. Justly rewarded in 1955 with the Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival, Femmes entre femmes is presented for the first time in its restored version at 2K!
