"Polanski-Deneuve, their association is an absolute success." THE INCREDIBLES

Carol works and lives in London with her sister Helen. Introverted, the young woman has relationship problems with men. She rejects Colin, who woos her, and does not appreciate Michael, her sister's lover. As the couple go on vacation and she finds herself alone in their large apartment, Carol gradually descends into madness...

After The Knife in the Water , Roman Polanski signs with Repulsion the first part of his "Trilogy of accursed apartments". Filmed in sumptuous black and white and bathed in an oppressive atmosphere, the film also marks the meeting of the director with Catherine Deneuve, more disturbing than ever. Captivating, Repulsion evokes the cinema of Alfred Hitchcock as much as the surrealist movement.
