October 1962, the Cuban missile crisis plunges the planet into atomic psychosis. Located just 150 km from the Cuban coast, the city of Key West is preparing for the worst. Amidst the tumult, Gene Loomis, a lonely teenager, awaits the arrival of horror film producer Lawrence Woolsey. The latter must present "Mant!" : the story of a man transformed into a giant ant after exposure to radioactive waves. Projected in Atomo Vision, the event goes much further than a simple cinema session, and Woolsey takes advantage of the ambient agitation to sow panic in town...

Building on the success of the Gremlins, Joe Dante produced with Panic on Florida Beach one of his most personal and daring works: an explosive tribute to the B series and to the director William Castle ( Killing is not playing ), inventor cult sessions at attractions.
