Directed by Kinji Fukasaku, who dynamited the codes of the yakuza film with the Combat without honor code series, Les Évadés de l'espace is a space opera with multiple finds and visual effects, endowed at the time with the largest budget in the history of Japanese cinema. Largely inspired by Star Wars , this huge success in Japan will in turn spawn the cult television series San Ku Kaï . Available for the first time in High Definition, Les Évadés de l'espace is offered in its original Japanese version as well as in its French version and editing*, used when it was released in theaters in 1979.
