Franz, known as "Fox", an unemployed showman, flirts with Max, an antique dealer who will introduce him to bourgeois homosexual society. Having won the lottery, Franz falls under the thumb of Eugen, who loots his bank account while trying to instill good manners in him. But Franz cannot hide his proletarian origins in this bourgeois and hypocritical world. Soon ruined, it will be abandoned by friends of the day before...
A peak in the work of Rainer Werner Fassbinder. An unbalanced and perverse love story between two homosexuals, whose author, both in front of and behind the camera, symbolizes the reality of class relations in today's society: the proletarians are and will always be exploited by the dominant class, and no mixing is, nor will be, possible.
