This sumptuous melodrama, imbued with eroticism, cruelty, and baroque grandeur, embodies all the excess that characterizes the world of the filmmaker behind Greed. Interrupted before its completion due to disagreements between the director and the production, Queen Kelly was never finished or distributed in its original form. The version offered in this Blu-ray™ edition is a brilliant attempt to reconstruct the film as intended by Erich von Stroheim, using footage shot in 1928-1929 and restored by Milestone Films.
