In the 18th century, in Venice. The streets, pontoons and canals are animated by the traditional carnival which deploys the pomp of a great pagan festival. Giacomo Casanova, dressed as Pierrot, goes to the invitation sent to him by a flirtatious and mischievous nun. Their erotic frolics are observed by the French ambassador, De Bernis, the nun's lover and complacent voyeur. This is the starting point of a series of gallant and sinister adventures recounted shamelessly by the famous seducer.
Federico Fellini adapts the adventures of Don Juan Casanova and brings us, with this short film, his own vision of the myth. An impressive work, entirely shot in the Cinecittà studios and in which Donald Sutherland embodies a striking Casanova. Without forgetting the famous music of Nino Rota.
