This was the starting point for Sangre del Toro, an astonishing documentary film shot between his Mexican “casa de monstruos” and an unusual Parisian museum, where the Minotaur-like filmmaker wanders through a labyrinth populated by childhood memories, cultural myths, and monsters to unveil the origins of his visionary films (The Devil's Backbone, Pan's Labyrinth), which have marked the imagination of generations of viewers.
