Three American crooks rob a bank in a Mexican village before being chased by the local police. The first is shot dead, while the other two, Rio and Dad Longworth, manage to escape. Having gone to get help, Longworth abandons his friend and runs off with the loot. Surrounded on all sides, Rio is arrested. When he manages to escape, he has only one idea in mind: to take revenge on his former sidekick...
Project successively entrusted to Sam Peckinpah (for the screenplay) then to Stanley Kubrick (for the direction), Two-Faced Vengeance will ultimately be Marlon Brando's only production. He delivers an introspective western of great visual beauty, which favors a form of contained but no less explosive violence. The work of a true auteur, to be contemplated for the first time in its 4K restoration produced by Universal Studios and The Film Foundation in consultation with Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg!
