Eight years after the grand Apocalypse Now , Francis Ford Coppola once again delves into the Vietnam War, this time choosing to show behind the scenes. Only located at the rear of the conflict, stone gardens renews the genre of the war film by swapping the spectacular for sobriety and the intimate. Through his hero played by James Caan, the filmmaker delivers a poignant reflection on the life of a soldier, between pride, guilt and doubt.
