Antoine Doinel is fourteen years old. In class, he keeps getting in trouble with his schoolmaster, who punishes him for writing on the classroom walls. At home, his parents are indifferent to him, and do not know what to do with him during the holidays. Not having done his punishment, Antoine skips school with his friend René and surprises his mother in the arms of her lover. The life of young Antoine is announced under the sign of lies and resourcefulness.
