In 1975, Jacques Rivette decided to shoot a tetralogy entitled "Scenes of life
parallel": he finally directed two out of four films,
Duelle (about forty) and
Noroît (a revenge) , influenced by mythology and centered around strong female characters. Two years later, the filmmaker completes the series with
Merry-Go-Round . Brilliantly restored in 2K, these three films form enchanted parentheses in a disillusioned socio-political context after the euphoria of May 68.
