DISCOVER THE WORK OF ONE OF THE GREATEST ARTIST OF FILIPINO CINEMA

8 UNPRECEDENTED WORKS AVAILABLE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE WORLD ON BLU-RAY!

"A GREAT FORMALIST AND REMARKABLE DIRECTOR OF ACTORS, ATTENTIVE TO THE SOCIAL AND POLITICAL REALITY OF HIS COUNTRY."
THE WORLD

Born in 1947 in Manila, Mike De Leon is a child of the ball: his father is the producer Manuel De Leon and his grandmother, Narcisa De Leon, the founder of LVN Pictures, a legendary Filipino studio. From Itim ( The Rites of May ), his first feature film made in 1976, Mike De Leon tackles social and political issues through powerful and sometimes disturbing images. Spanning nearly five decades, his filmography scrutinizes the evolution of Filipino society with disconcerting audacity, using both genre cinema and auteur film. Psychological drama, political thriller, romance, parody spy film, the 8 feature films presented in this restored version of this Blu-ray™ 5 Box set capture the portrait of an essential filmmaker, at work with remarkable stylistic power. .
